Some 60 organizations and citizens are calling on the elected officials of Greater Montreal to fight road violence together.

Vivre en Ville, Piétons Québec, the Centre d’écologie urbaine de Montréal, the Laboratoire piéton et espace urbain (LAPS) of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS-UCS), the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal and Société Logique are presenting decision-makers, elected officials and public servants with a call to action towards a Vision Zero strategy in the Greater Montreal area. This call to action is the result of the reflections of 120 participants from all professional backgrounds, at the « Vision Zero » forum held in Montreal, back in October 2017.

In the context of the public consultations on the PL165 project modifying the Highway Safety Code, the group proposes a consultation held among all decision-making levels and members of the civil society in regards to the planning and development of the city’s road network in favor of Vision Zero. More than 50 signatories pledged in terms of road safety by supporting the initiative signing the call to action.
