Société Logique is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the collective rights of people with disabilities and promoting universal accessibility. Its mission is rooted in the belief that universal design offers an effective way to enable everyone to fully exercise their right to the city.
For over 40 years, Société Logique has been developing its expertise in this field by working closely with people with disabilities and the organizations that represent them.
The team, composed of architects and urban planning professionals, is committed to designing inclusive, practical, and sustainable solutions throughout Quebec. We bridge the gap between the needs and aspirations of people with disabilities and the various professionals in the built environment (architecture, design, urban planning, transportation engineering, etc.).
Our social economy services serve as a proactive lever for achieving our mission. They are designed to engage with individuals, municipalities, transit agencies, and public institutions to bring about lasting changes in design practices, public policies, and urban infrastructure, with the goal of reducing barriers in the built environment.
33%

" The concept of universal design originated from the needs of people with functional limitations. These needs are indicative of the difficulties felt by all citizens. Universal design offers solutions that meet everybody’s accessibility requirements appropriately. "

We also cultivate strong ties with a variety of local and international organizations working in sustainable development, universal design or architecture.

" Universal design aims at a superior accessibility performance to that provided by the current building regulations. Being inspired by LEED standards, the quality of the built environment can be improved both in aesthetic terms, and in terms of durability and functionality. "
— Sophie Lanctôt, former Executive Director, strategic consultant.
